Transforming Art into Other Things
Wandering Designs was created in 2025 when I (Susie) was working in a local art gallery. While there, I began to ponder 2 questions:
- What are some other ways for an artist to make a living?
- What would that painting look like on a fabric?
Exploring the answers lead me to the industry called, surface pattern design – which is the art of creating repeat motifs that are used on textiles and packaging
And thus began the Wandering Designs journey. Working with Colorado artist, Jim Klein, we are using the digital versions of his artwork to create other things like fabrics, puzzles, stationery, and more!
